多年前看後，就喜歡主角Nicolas Cage，他不俊俏，但他有一種很獨有的氣質。
多年後再看這電影，氛圍很頹，很憂鬱，當然了，因為小說作者賣出版權後就自殺。電影主角也是一心尋死，酗酒的程度令人咋舌，電影確實捕捉了那種味道，五光十色繁華的拉斯維加斯，與兩位主角的心理狀況形成強烈對比。Nicolas Cage在電影裡的一頭手一頭足、眼神的空洞無力，觀眾不自覺被捲入他的黑洞裡，看後心仍隱隱作痛，他也因此得到奧斯卡最佳男主角。
電影中文譯名也譯得很好，兩顆寂寞的心，男主角Ben找來妓女Sera陪伴，不是想要有性交易，而是只希望她能陪在身邊；女主角Sera也希望Ben能陪伴自己，不惜晚上在街上毫無頭緒地尋找他的踪影。兩人走在一起，一個一心尋死，一個只希望遇上不計較她做妓女這職業的人；當Ben收到Sera送的隨身酒瓶，當Sera聽到Ben說不介意她做妓女不是因為他不在乎，而是因為信任她的選擇；二人尊重對方，不需要為對方改變，在有限時間下，愛上最真實的自己，沒有利益，沒有衝突，這算是最直接最簡單的愛情吧。
